What do I have to do in case of emergency?

What happens at the initial visit?

At your first visit you will be seen by one of our specialists who will do various checkups. First you will be asked about your dental clinical history and your general health. This will be followed by a thorough examination of your mouth and depending on each case, we will do an x-ray if it is considered necessary. In this way you will have thorough and detailed information about the state of your mouth.

Who will do my dental cleaning?

Cleaning will be done by one of our dental surgeons. As professionals they are the only ones qualified to evaluate, diagnose and prevent problems that may occur in your mouth in Menorca,in an appropriate and personalised way.

I am pregnant, is it best to have a dental checkup?

The answer is yes. You must have a dental checkup during and after your pregnancy. It is very important to have dental monitoring to avoid complications caused by hormonal and physical changes which occur during pregnancy.

At what age should I take my children to the dentist?

It must be made clear that any time is a good time for a dental checkup but there are various points to keep in mind. Normally parents start to think about the dental health of their baby when the milk teeth appear,but really it is recommended that an initial checkup is done on newly born babies, even though they don't have any teeth.
Besides a paediatric doctor, it is important that a checkup is done by your dentist in Menorca to confirm the baby's health. It is something very simple which allows us to check on the complete mouth health of a newly born and put forward a quick solution to any anomalies which may make breast feeding difficult , such as a short frenulum of the tongue.

What is a dental implant?

It is a piece of titanium which artificially replaces the root of a tooth, allowing a tooth (cap) or denture to be put in place.

Does a dental implant last all of my life?

Implants are very reliable and last a long time if correctly looked after hygienically and given professional attention.

When can the positioning of my teeth be corrected with orthodontics?

Orthodontics can be be carried out at any age to correct the positioning of the teeth for aesthetic or functional reasons, providing that your dental health is appropriate.

Is it a franchise clinic ?

No. We are a private dental clinic in Menorca,run by and staffed by the owners, who are all registered dental surgeons.

Can whitening damage my teeth ?

Dental whitening carried out by and controlled by professionals does NOT damage the teeth. However, there are on the market whitening kits which are not controlled by professionals which can cause serious problems in the mouth and to the teeth. That is why we recommend professional supervision.

How many times a year do I have to have a dental checkup?

We recommend every 6 months, to significally reduce the onset of dental decay and any other problems in the mouth.
